A sensitive whole-house remodel of a 1920s Craftsman bungalow in Milwaukee. Updated kitchen, opened floor plan, and added a primary bath while preserving original character details.
The owners of this 1920s Craftsman bungalow loved their neighborhood and their home’s character but needed a modern kitchen, an updated bathroom, and a more open living layout. The challenge was making meaningful improvements without losing the details that give the home its soul.
Every design decision was filtered through one question: does this honor the home’s original character? We matched new trim profiles to the originals, sourced period-style hardware, and used materials consistent with 1920s Craftsman aesthetics. The result feels like the home was always this way.
